Halabja Organizations’ Quarterly Dialogue

A quarterly dialogue bringing together civil society organizations in Halabja to improve organizational practices and strengthen their capacities.

Halabja Governorate has a substantial number of civil society organizations, but only a small proportion maintain offices, implement projects, and actively carry out their work. This limited activity has contributed to some of the administrative, economic, and social problems facing the governorate.

Weak organizational practices and limited activity stem from insufficient understanding of the foundations of civil society work, both within organizations and among some government departments. These gaps create obstacles for organizations in particular and for the wider community.

Addressing these problems requires further dialogue and greater awareness of how civil society organizations operate. The programme seeks to build consensus and cooperation among organizations and improve their relationships with government departments and international organizations. These efforts aim to promote mutual understanding, reduce barriers, and improve access to local and international resources, contributing to the development of Halabja Governorate.

Programme format Each quarter, a civil society organization in Halabja will host an open dialogue to identify the problems and obstacles affecting organizations’ work.

Recommendations from the organizations will be prepared for the relevant bodies, with the aim of reducing barriers and creating a supportive environment for civil society organizations. The programme is implemented by the Halabja Organizations Solidarity Platform, with support from NASIN Foundation.
